Envirogrower Officially Launches its Business in Africa
Thu, 9 Feb 2012Envirogrower sprung into life in Botswana on 9 February 2012 with a grand launch at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. The stellar audience at the launch underpinned the significance of the role Envirogrower stands to play in Botswana’s development counting amongst its number the Former President of the Republic of Botswana H.E. Sir Ketumile Masire, the Honorable Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mokgweetsi Masisi, prominent government officials, from Botswana Export Development Industry Authority (BEDIA), Citizens Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), agricultural academics and major farmers.
The keynote speaker, CEDA CEO Thabo Thamane, distilled the essence of Envirogrower’s value proposition – the ability to empower Botswana’s citizens to transform their nation into a major agricultural producer despite their limited water resources. The launch has generated enormous interest across all sectors of agriculture and horticulture, with widespread media coverage. Botswana Voice, Botswana Television, Economic Insight magazine, and Radio Botswana all ran glowing accounts of the opportunities Envirogrower is bringing to Botswana. The extent of the media coverage was illustrated by Andrew Grasby, Director, being excitedly stopped in the road and congratulated by a prominent farm manager who heard of the launch on the radio. Envirogrower’s launch in Botswana represents an exciting start and a dynamic stage of the company’s growth into Africa.
